There are plenty of options for scuba diving in St Lucia. Some of the most spectacular dives can be found near the Anse Chastanet reef. These dives are accessible to anyone who isn't used to scuba diving. They can be accessed from 10 to 25 feet, and have some of most colorful corals.
Anse Chastanet Reef
Anse Chastanet is located on 600 acres of land with two beaches of volcanic black sand and beautiful coral reefs. You can enjoy scuba diving and snorkeling at the resort. The resort offers complimentary guided hikes and relaxation on the beaches. An organic farm and chocolate laboratory are located on the estate.
Ansechastanet has been awarded numerous awards including five Best-of-Readers' Choice awards. It is great for beginners as well as more experienced divers. You can also find wrecks, boat diving, and wall diving. Night dives are popular on the Anse Chastanet Reef.

Dani Koyomaru
Divers who wish to dive in Saint Lucia can choose from a number of options. You can visit the smaller, but equally impressive, Rosemond's Trench, or dive in deeper waters. This site is known for its large schools of tropical fish, giant man-sized sponges, and intricate coral formations. This is also the best place to dive and see the famous Saint Lucia Reef System.
The Daini Koyomaru shipwreck is located a few miles further from the coast. This Japanese dredger sank in 1996. The ship is still partially submerged, and the wreck is propped up by the superstructure. As well as inscribed Japanese and other languages, there are visible upturned decks.
Dani Koyomaru Dredger
Daini Koyomaru, originally a Japanese fishing vessel and dredged 1996, is a stunning wreck to dive. It is approximately 74 meters in length and 24 meters high. The dredger can be sunk on its side and is now safe for experienced divers. French angelfishes, garden eels (moray eels), and barracudas are just some of its marine inhabitants.
Another popular St Lucia dive location is the 165-foot Japanese dredger Lesleen M. Although the dive site is only shallow, it's home to many fascinating creatures like scorpionfish and flying gurnard.

Soufriere Marine Management Area
Scuba diving is an amazing way to experience the beauty of coral reefs in St Lucia's Soufriere Marine Management Area. This marine management area was established to preserve the waters and foster a healthy ecosystem. It was created in response to environmental degradation and conflicts among resource users. The SMMA was primarily created because of conflicts between local fishermen and scuba divers.
Since 2004, Soufriere pitons has been a UNESCO World Heritage location. It is managed to be a nature reserve. This site boasts some the best diving in St Lucia. The site is home to numerous coral species and has an abundance of tropical fish. This area is also famous for its abundance of predators as well as cetaceans. Divers have the opportunity to observe the amazing marine biodiversity.
