LA Divers Sites

White Point dive site is one of the best in LA. It has white bacteria mats on its bottom and is very close to the hot springs. You will also find an old shipwreck and rock reef at the dive site. You will also see giant sea stars and urchins. High tide is the best day to dive.

Leo Carillo

Leo Carrillo La is a California state parks located along Los Angeles County's southern coast. It is part Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. There are 1.5 miles of beach stretching into the Santa Monica Mountains. Divers can enjoy the stunning waters off Leo Carrillo State Park.

Divers have the option to choose from three main sites at Leo Carrillo. These sites are perfect for beginners because they offer easy entry points as well as ample parking. They're popular for night diving as well as lobster hunting. There's also plenty of marine species to be seen.

Santa Barbara Island

Santa Barbara Island has some great offshore dive spots. You can take a boat ride to reach these amazing dive sites. These sites are usually rocky and are good hunting and photography grounds. These areas also contain healthy kelp plants and purple-colored hydro coral. It is also a great spot for swimming in Southern California waters.


On the island, visitors can also participate in kayaking and snorkeling. If it is dry, tent camping can be done. There is a large population pinnipeds on the island, which includes harbor seals. These animals can often be seen around the sealion rookery and at several overlooks.

Anacapa Island

Anacapa Island hosts a wide range of marine life. One of the United States’ first Marine Protected Areas has been established in this area. This area offers great diving for both beginners and seasoned divers. The waters surrounding the island are warm enough to allow you to dive with a wetsuit. In late summer and autumn, the surface temperatures can reach 70°F (21°C). In the winter, temperatures can plummet to 50°F (10°C). It is recommended to use a 7mm wetsuit. During these months, visibility is at least 100ft (30M).

Dive charter boats, as well the Island Packers, can take you to Anacapa. There are numerous dive sites available on the island, including a 40-foot-tall arch rock. These sites can also been viewed from the water surface by snorkeling gear.

Veteran's Park

Veteran's Park is a Green Space on Ocean Drive that has a playground and fields. This is a great spot for families to enjoy time together. It is located close to the beaches. You can enjoy a stunning view of the ocean at the park, especially on a sunny afternoon. The park is open all year and offers a lot of activities.

Access is easy from the parking lot. Veteran's Park, a great place to start your dive adventure, is ideal for first-timers. It's easily accessible and has restrooms as well as parking. The meter will always be checked and there's an outdoor shower where you can wash your gear. There is also a changing area. However, the restrooms are closed at dusk.
