If you are considering becoming a cavern diver, you will need to complete a scuba diving course. This course covers four scuba diving dives. The first one is an outdoor practice dive where you will learn basic techniques for handling line and reel, air management, and avoiding silt outs. Your instructor can also help you plan your dives and manage your orientation. You will be able, upon completion, to dive in caves or other caves that follow safety rules.
Safety
Safety protocols for cave diving follow the Rule of Threes. Cave divers should have at least three sources of light, and two tanks. To ensure that they have enough gas for the dive, they must also split their gas into three parts. If the dive team has experience in diving in caves, a more conservative gas management plan will be preferred. Cave divers should be careful when diving in caves.
Equipment
Cave diving is a sport that requires specific equipment. Two safety reels should be carried. One safety reel should be used to run the guideline while the other should maintain the line tension in the cave. Make sure each diver has a safety line with enough line to reach the cave entrance. Manufacturers will often pack the reels up to the edge with guideline when making a new reel. This makes them more susceptible to jamming. To avoid a jam, you should cut off about 10 meters (30 ft) of line before use to reduce the risk of entanglement.
Maximum penetration
TDI offers a cavern course to scuba divers looking to dive in areas where it is not possible to reach the vertical. This includes diving into caverns and overhangs. While it is not a prerequisite to enroll in a cavern dive, this course will help you gain the necessary skills to make the best use of this environment. You will learn to navigate the often-hidden spaces safely.

Maximum depth
Cavern diving is subject to certain restrictions. Cavern diving should not be done at night. Additionally, cavern diving requires more advanced training than most other types of diving. Cavern diving requires that you know your limits and learn basic cave safety procedures. Before diving in caverns, you will need to have had some experience. Once you have this experience, you can start your adventure into the world cavern dive!
