Scuba Diving St Lucia

St Lucia has many options for scuba divers. The Anse Chastanet Reef is home to some of the most stunning dives. These dives are suitable for all levels of scuba divers, even those who aren't comfortable diving. They can be accessed from 10 to 25 feet, and have some of most colorful corals.

Anse Chastanet Reef

Anse Chastanet, a resort on 600 acres, has two volcanic black beaches and pristine corals. You can enjoy scuba diving and snorkeling at the resort. You can either relax on the beach, or take part in guided hikes. The estate is also home to an organic farm and a chocolate laboratory.

Ansechastanet has received numerous awards, including five Best Of Readers' Choice Awards. It is a great dive site for beginner divers as well as experienced divers. There are wrecks, wall diving and boat diving on the reef. Night diving is a popular activity on the Anse Chastanet.

Dani Koyomaru

Scuba divers who want to dive in Saint Lucia have a few options. You have the option to visit Rosemond's Trench which is smaller but no less impressive. Or, you can explore deeper waters. This site is known for its large schools of tropical fish, giant man-sized sponges, and intricate coral formations. You can also dive here to see the famous Saint Lucia coral reef system.


The Daini Koyomaru shipwreck is located a few miles further from the coast. This Japanese dredger went down in 1996. The wreck remains partially submerged. It is supported by the superstructure. As well as inscribed Japanese and other languages, there are visible upturned decks.

It is an amazing wreck to dive. The Daini Koyomaru, which was a Japanese fishing boat, was dredged in 1996. It measures approximately 74 meters long by 24 meters high. The dredger can be sunk on its side and is now safe for experienced divers. French angelfishes, garden eels (moray eels), and barracudas are just some of its marine inhabitants.

Another popular St Lucia diving spot is the Lesleen M, an 165-foot Japanese dredger. Although this site has shallow depths, it is home to some fascinating creatures such as scorpionfish and flying dragonflies.

Soufriere Marine Management Area

Scuba diving in St Lucia’s Soufriere Marine Management Area allows you to explore the stunning coral reefs. The marine management areas were created to protect and enhance the ecosystem's health. It was founded in response to environmental degradation, conflict among resource owners, and other factors. SMMA was especially created due to conflict between local fishermen and divers.

Since 2004, the Soufriere Pintons site has been a UNESCO World Heritage area. It is managed as an area of nature reserve, and offers some of the best diving in St Lucia. It is home to numerous coral species as well as an abundance of tropical fish. This area is well-known for their passage of numerous species of cetaceans, as well predators. Divers can also observe the beautiful marine biodiversity.
