NAUI Master Scuba Diver
The NAUI Master Scuba Diver certificate is the most sought after certification in recreational diving. Students must complete the course by learning how to scuba dive and then completing at least two open water dives. This is a continuous education program that emphasizes classroom discussion, practical applications, and student participation. E-learning courses must first be completed by students. They also need to complete at least 23 hours of classroom work with an instructor. Course material includes topics such as diving equipment, diving physics, deep diving, and search and recovery. Students must pass an exam that tests their water skills, similar to those required by a NAUI Assistant Instructor.

The SSI Master Scuba Diver is one of top levels in recreational diving. This rating combines skills development with knowledge and experiences. This qualification allows recreational divers the opportunity to act as role models. A diver must have taken at least 4 specialty courses, and logged more than 50 diving hours to be eligible for this elite rating.
