Divers can learn valuable skills through a Dive Specialty. Specialties enable divers to make a positive difference on every dive. This type is usually specialized in a certain area of diving and may specialize in particular equipment. Enriched Air Nitrox EANx, Deep Scuba Diving, and Boat Diving are some examples of these specialties. Below are more details about these diving specialties.

Enriched Air Nitrox

If you want to learn more about the advantages of enriched air, consider becoming a certified PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver. This course is a specialty that includes hands-on practice, independent study and optional two Nitrox dives. This course can be done online or offline. You can also complete it whenever you want, no matter where you live. You will need to have a tank that meets the special oxygen service standards for this specialty.

Underwater Photography

For those who love taking pictures, diving is a great way to expand their skills and knowledge. One of the many specialties in diving is underwater photography. In this course, you will learn the basic principles and techniques of underwater photography. Additionally, you will learn about composition and underwater lighting. The proper etiquette of underwater photography will be taught. You will learn underwater photography and be connected to an instructor through the PADI eLearning program.


Boat Diving

The PADI Boat Diver Specialty Course is for you, whether you are just beginning your dive adventure or looking to take on a new challenge. The course covers everything you need to know about boat diving, including how to enter and exit, proper etiquette as well as how to pack your gear. Additionally, you will learn how to manage emergencies on the water and boat safety.

Deep Scuba

There are several Deep Scuba diving specialties. Advanced Diver certification means that certified divers can dive deeper than the initial dive. Deep Scuba divers should understand the effects of pressure and breathing while diving, because their body functions and systems become increasingly vulnerable at greater depths. They must also be able to plan and carry out safe deep dives. Some specialties require more training than others. There are however a few requirements for certification.
